In certain parts of the Northern Territory, flooding is a very real possibility. If you live in one of those areas you need to know how to be prepared and what to do in the event of a flood.
Riverine flooding occurs when heavy rainfall causes relatively high water levels in rivers or creeks to overtop the banks. Katherine is one of our largest populated areas that is often affected by riverine flooding. Flash flooding can also occur across the Territory including some areas of Alice Springs and Darwin.
